Happy New Year

We wound up going to the night market in a whirlwind of negotiations and purchasing of last minute souvenirs. We got back to the hotel, had a short time to shower and triple check that we had everything, and then headed off for the airport. As the plane began to accelerate down the runway, I looked out the window and saw the first of the fireworks going off to celebrate the new year. The wheels left the ground at 12:00 on January 1st, 2015. The flight .took off to the south and had to turn back to the north, so I got to see the fireworks from all over the city, until Siam Reap disappeared in the distance behind us.

We arrived in Seoul after a 5 hour flight at 7:00 in the morning after a two hour time change. Our layover was 7 hours, so after going through security we got a room at the international hotel. I did manage a fitful sleep, but was up every hour or so. Then it was back onto a plane which took off 4 minutes before midnight back home and Sarah and I were able to have our second first-kiss of 2015. I did not get any sleep on the second flight, which was around 10 hours long. We landed safely in San Francisco, and had another 10 hour layover. We tried to get our flight changed, but all the flights through United were full, so now we just sit here and wait to sit on another plane. We are scheduled to arrive at SeaTac at 10:00 tonight, which should put us home around midnight on January 1st. Of course, for us, this 24 hours will have lasted 38 hours.

Only 11 more hours before I can go to sleep.
